Time and sun change how our skin looks and feels. Loss of elasticity, fine lines, lack of youthful volume--they add up to a look that's less than pleasing. In Encino, CA you can trust your skin care to A E Skin. Dr. Alex Eshaghian and his team are well-versed in all things aesthetic and will treat your skin to rejuvenating treatments that are scientifically based and effective. Learn more about our wide range of services and how great care plus outstanding products can enhance your personal appearance.

Skin care in Encino

At A E Skin, you'll see Dr. Eshaghian every time you visit the office. He'll examine your skin and listen to your goals for smoother, tighter and more line and spot-free skin. Plus, he'll make recommendations for skin care regimens tailor-made for your activity level, age, wellness and personal preferences. What would you like to change?

We're all going through it, and it makes the skin, especially on the face, neck, upper chest and hands, look wrinkled, papery, loose and just plain old. Skin naturally loses its elasticity as collagen production decreases. Dr. Eshaghian has several in-office treatments and at-home skin care products which can change those signs of aging for the better.

Anti-aging treatments include:

  • Dermal fillers, an injectable form of hyaluronic acid to smooth fine lines and wrinkles
  • Chemical peels to reveal a more radiant skin tone (alpha-hydroxy acid is the typical active ingredient, says the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery)
  • Cellulite treatments to smooth dimpling on the thighs, abdomen and buttocks
  • Fractional CO2 laser resurfacing, a safe and comfortable way to remove skin spots and acne scarring
  • BOTOX Cosmetic, an injectable medication which limits the movement of selected facial muscles and reduces dynamic wrinkling between the brows, across the forehead and at the sides of the mouth
  • Laser leg vein treatments to reduce the appearance of spider veins and rosacea

Sun exposure

We need the sun for strong bones and great mental health. However, too much sun advances skin aging and threatens both young and old with skin cancer. As such, Dr. Eshaghian recommends Elta MD skin products, including SPF 40 sunscreen, to protect exposed skin from harmful UV rays.

These board spectrum products provide daily moisture and the continual protection you need regardless of the time of year.

How can we help your skin?

Please call A E Skin in Encino, CA to arrange a personal consultation with Dr. Alex Eshaghian. Feel great and look radiant with your healthiest skin ever. Phone the office at (818) 835-1833.

It’s not always necessary to default to a facelift or other invasive plastic surgery procedure to improve your skin’s appearance. A treatment chemical peelcalled a chemical peel may be all that you need. Find out more about chemical peels and the other ways a specialist at A E Skin in Encino, CA, can make your face look younger, fresher, and smoother.

What Is a Chemical Peel?
As the name suggests, a chemical peel involves peeling a layer of skin off the face so that new cells can emerge. A special acidic solution is applied to the skin that gently removes the damaged layer of skin over the course of about a week. The treatment used at A E Skin is called the A E Skin Red Carpet Peel.

Chemical Peel Benefits
The main benefit of a chemical peel is that you do not have to go under the knife in order to get rid of skin imperfections. It provides benefits for patients who have fine wrinkles, sun damage, smile lines, and scars. It helps smooth out rough patches on the skin. Patients who have stubborn acne scars and skin discolorations may also benefit from this treatment. If you’re interested in an overall facial rejuvenation, this procedure can do wonders.

Your Chemical Peel Appointment
A chemical peel is completed in a 15-minute session with your Encino skin doctor. The skin is gently washed in preparation for the treatment and photos are taken so that you can see the change. Though you may feel a tingling sensation as the acid solution is applied, you should experience minimal discomfort during the appointment because it contains a numbing agent. After the procedure, the skin will peel off and may look red or irritated. It’s important to follow aftercare instructions closely. You may have to come in for about six treatments to get the results you’re looking for.

Schedule a Skin Session
You can revitalize your skin’s appearance with a chemical peel or another skin treatment at A E Skin in Encino, CA. Schedule a visit with Dr. Alex Eshaghian and his staff today by calling 818-835-1833.

Are you unhappy with your wrinkles, age spots, loose skin, or acne scars? Laser skin treatments offer a quick, virtually painless way tolaser treatments improve your skin without surgery. Our Encino, CA, dermatologist, Dr. Alex Eshaghian, provides several laser treatment you may want to consider.

Laser skin tightening

Collagen, the protein that helps keep skin elastic, tends to decrease as we age. As a result, skin begins to sag, forming fine lines and wrinkles. Laser skin tightening treatment heats the deep layers of the skin. As the laser energy penetrates the skin, collagen contracts, firming the skin. Treatment also promotes the growth of new collagen. Laser skin resurfacing can improve the appearance of your cheeks, jawline, chin, and neck and can be combined with chemical peels, other laser treatments, and Botox injections.

Fractional CO2 laser resurfacing

Fractional CO2 laser resurfacing creates tiny pinpricks in the skin that trigger collagen production. The laser only treats a fraction of your skin and doesn't affect surrounding skin, which helps promote rapid healing. The treatment can minimize fine to deep wrinkles, make scars and large pores less noticeable, and improve the texture of your skin. It's often used on the neck, face, hands or chest.

Microlaser peel

The microlaser peel removes the top layers of the skin where fine lines, age spots, freckles, and shallow acne scars reside. After your treatment, the top layers of your skin will peel away, revealing younger-looking skin underneath. The treatment also triggers the growth of new cells during the healing process. Because the microlaser peel is only used on the outer layers of the skin, you may not even need a topical anesthetic during treatment in our Encino office.

AE skin ultimate rejuvenation

The AE skin ultimate rejuvenation treatment combines several types of treatments to help your skin look youthful and radiant. During your visit, you'll receive a Forever Young IPL Photofacial that targets discolorations, reduces redness and close enlarged pores, followed by a laser skin tightening treatment. Other steps include a microlaser peel treatment, Pro Fractional Therapy, and treatment with hydroquinone liquid to brighten skin.

Turn back time with laser skin treatments! Call our Encino, CA, dermatologist, Dr. Alex Eshaghian, at (818) 835-1833 to schedule your appointment.

If you ractional co2 laser resurfacinghave sagging neck skin, furrows between your brows and facial age spots that make you feel older than you really are, then Dr. Alex can guide you to the skin care just right for you. One of his most innovative and effective services is fractional CO2 laser resurfacing which transforms facial appearance in as little as one in-office treatment.

What is Fractional CO2 Laser Resurfacing?

Dr. Alex Eshaghian offers this rejuvenation treatment to healthy adults who wish to improve the elasticity of the skin on their face, neck, hands and upper chest. Focused and intense beams of light, delivered through a handheld instrument, actually boost collagen production, the natural skin component which helps us look refreshed and youthful. In essence, these innovative laser treatments allow the body to rejuvenate itself.

Carefully applied by Dr. Alex, fractional CO2 Laser resurfacing:

  • Smooths the look of fine lines and wrinkles
  • Lightens age spots
  • Minimizes the appearance of scars and birthmarks
  • Brightness dullness and improves skin texture
  • Refines large pores

Fully approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), this unique skincare treatment in Encino is open to adults who have realistic aesthetic goals for their appearance and who are in good overall health.

The process

It happens in-office at AE Skin with a hand-held laser tool. The patient's skin is cleansed and an anesthetic cream applied. Comfortable eyewear protects the eyes during the entire treatment.

Typically, a complete treatment takes 15 to 30 minutes. It produces a reddened tone to the skin, similar to a mild sunburn. Some tightening results are obvious immediately; however, optimal changes develop gradually over several weeks to months.

After CO2 laser resurfacing

Right after treatment, the patient should expect to rest at home for a day or two. Ice to the treated areas helps reduce puffiness and  redness,

and over the counter analgesics manage any discomfort. While laser skin resurfacing is not a permanent "fix," it does produce excellent aesthetic results and is easier than more invasive procedures such as the surgical facelift.

American Society of Plastic Surgeons says that almost a quarter million of these amazing procedures were performed in the US in 2016. About 40 percent were delivered to the 55 and older age group.

Need a new look?

Then, investigate Fractional CO2 Laser Resurfacing at AE Skin. Dr. Alex Eshaghian and his team provide premiere skin care in Encino, CA and they'd love to help you find your best appearance. Call today for a consultation: (818) 835-1833.

Don’t let dry skin get you down this winter season. Keep this problem at bay.

If you are someone who battles dry skin often our Encino, CA, dermatologist, Dr. Alex Eshaghian, has simple solutions for combating this unpleasant issue.

Avoid Hot Water

We know how enticing a steaming hot shower or bath can be, particularly if you just came in from the frigid outdoors; however, if you are someone who deals with dry skin then you truly want to heed this warning and stay away from lingering hot showers. Instead, opt for warm water and limit the amount of time in the shower to no more than 10 minutes.

Use Gentle Products

Harsh cleansers can strip skin of the natural oils it needs. If you are someone who deals with dry skin pretty consistently then you’ll want to take a look at the products you are using on your skin. Look for sensitive, fragrance-free skincare products for both your face and your body and avoid products that contain alcohol. If you are at a loss for what products are right for dry skin, our Encino skin doctor would be happy to provide some recommendations.

Don’t Be Aggressive

A lot of people think that in order to get skin clean they need to scrub and scrub. While a squeaky clean may be okay when it comes to your kitchen floors it shouldn’t be for your skin. Always take a gentle approach to cleansing your skin. After washing your face never rub your face clean. Instead, blot skin dry with a soft towel.

Don’t Skimp on Moisturizer

Moisturizer is something that everyone should use to keep skin feeling and looking supple. Even those who don’t deal with dry skin should still consider using a light moisturizer, particularly during drier, colder months. Of course, if you are dealing with dry skin then you will want to use a thicker emollient. Apply right after getting out of the shower or immediately after washing your face.

If you are having difficulty tackling your dry skin this winter, then it’s time you turned to AE Skin in Encino, CA, for the answers you need to get your skin under control. Call us today to learn more about what we can do for you!

When your skin has lost its firmness due to sun exposure and aging, it can have a major effect on the confidence you have in your dermal fillersappearance. Your skin care specialist at AE Skin in Encino, CA Dr. Alex Eshaghian uses a treatment called dermal fillers to help people dealing with lines and wrinkles. Find out how dermal fillers can help you if you’re not satisfied with the appearance of your skin.

About Dermal Fillers
A dermal filler is a product made of a substance called hyaluronic acid. Two popular treatments are Juvederm and Restylane. Once filled, the lines smooth out and create more attractive facial contours.

- Smooth out wrinkles and folds in the skin.
- Reduce the appearance of crow’s feet and smile lines around the mouth.

Enjoy A Younger Looking Face for Months
After one 15-minute treatment, expect to enjoy the benefits of dermal fillers for several months up to a year. At that time, simple schedule another 15-minute appointment to keep your skin looking younger and smoother. Keep in mind that dermal fillers can also fill in the lines and wrinkles on your hands. Isn’t it time that you understand exactly what your skin type needs to look its best?skin care

While everyone knows to wash their skin everyday, it’s amazing how many people don’t truly understand what their skin needs apart from daily cleansing. The products you use, how you use them and other daily habits can play a large role in the health of your skin. Our Encino, CA, dermatologist, Dr. Alex Eshaghian, is here to share how to properly care for your skin based on its type.

You Have Dry Skin

If your skin feels tight and itchy after you wash it then you could have dry skin. Besides skin that feels dry, tight, flaky or itchy, you may also notice lines around the eyes or mouth.

Skin Care Tips for Dry Skin: You will find that being too rough or aggressive with your skin can actually make dryness and agitation worse. Always be gentle with your skin, especially when washing your face. Opt for a gentle cleanser and avoid hot water (only use lukewarm water). Finish up your skincare regime with a cream-based moisturizer. Also, remember to always apply sunscreen daily.

You Have Oily Skin

You notice that your skin often looks greasy, shiny or oily. As a result, pores may look enlarged and visible. You may also find yourself prone to breakouts.

Skin Care Tips for Oily Skin: While you may be tempted to wash your face multiple times a day, this can actually make oily skin worse. You should only wash your face twice a day (in the morning and at night).

And you may think you can just skip moisturizers altogether, but you shouldn’t. Look for a lightweight moisturizer to apply each day to help keep oil glands from working overtime. Also, remember to always apply sunscreen daily.

You Have Combination Skin

With combination skin you may notice that while certain areas of your face are normal or perhaps even a little dry, your forehead, chin and nose are oily (this area is known as the T-zone). If you have an oily T-zone but the rest of your face seems normal then you could have combination skin.

Skin Care Tips for Combination Skin: This can be a bit more frustrating to tackle since the skincare products you’ll find on the market won’t tailor to both oily and dry/normal skin. You’ll need to consider products for both. If you are unsure of which products to use to tackle combination skin then this is the perfect time to talk to our Encino skin doctor. Also, remember to always apply sunscreen daily.

You Have Normal Skin

Lucky you! This means that no areas of your skin are either oily or dry and pores are small and barely visible.

Skin Care Tips for Normal Skin: One of the best things about having normal skin is that you can pick and choose the kinds of products that will work best for you, while paying attention to any issues that may still arise along the way. Continue to follow a daily regime of washing your face twice a day, using a gentle cleanser and then applying a moisturizer right after. Also, remember to always apply sunscreen daily.

If you have questions about skin care or the dermatological services we offer, then call AE Skin in Encino, CA, today to learn more about the best ways to keep your skin healthy and happy.

Find out if a chemical peel is exactly what you need to improve your skin’s appearance.chemical peel

Does the phrase “aging gracefully” seem false? Do you feel like years of sunbathing or not giving your skin the proper care it needs has left you dealing with sun damage, wrinkles and lines, and an uneven skin tone? Are you looking for ways to reverse some of these changes to improve the overall appearance of your skin? If so, then it might be time to ask our Encino, CA, dermatologist, Dr. Alex Eshaghian, about chemical peels.

What is a chemical peel?

During a chemical peel, a special solution is applied to the skin. The purpose of this solution is to remove the outer layer of dead skin to reveal softer, smoother and more radiant skin underneath. The skin won’t immediately peel away during your procedure. The peel will cause a blistering effect, but after a few days the old, dead skin will peel away to show healthy, new skin. Your recovery time will really depend on the intensity of the chemical peel (superficial vs. deep) you choose to get.

What issues can a chemical peel actually address?

A chemical peel can provide a host of awesome benefits for the right candidate including:

  • Reducing the appearance of superficial scars, lines and wrinkles
  • Improving acne
  • Evening out skin tone and reducing the appearance of brown patches, sunspots and age spots
  • Boosting the tone, texture, and radiance of your skin

Who is a good candidate for a chemical peel?

There are so many different dermatological options out there that it can often be difficult to figure out which one is actually the best one for you. This is where our Encino skin doctor can come in and help you decide. Let’s sit down and chat about your treatment goals. This treatment is great for minor-to-moderate lines, wrinkles, scars and acne but it won’t treat sagging or severely wrinkled skin. By letting us know your goals for treatment we can also determine if other options like cosmetic fillers or a brow lift may also be a great complementary treatment to your chemical peel.

AE Skin Professional Med Spa in Encino, CA, is ready to help you get more youthful skin, whether that’s through a chemical peel, laser resurfacing or dermal fillers. Call us today to find out how we can help you.

Imagine if there was an eraser that could eliminate years of sun damage, wrinkles and redness that have accumulated on your face, skin carehands, or chest. Would it surprise you to learn that with a Forever Young BBL/IPL photofacial treatment, you can actually make this happen? At AE Skin in Encino, California, Dr. Alex can turn back the hands of time with this amazing treatment. Below are answers to some of the common questions regarding this procedure.

What is Forever Young BBL/IPL?

IPL stands for intense pulsed light, which is similar to laser treatment except that it has a broader spectrum than the one wavelength, or color, of light that a laser emits. The Forever Young BBL, or broadband light, is a type of tool that enhances IPL technology by allowing Dr. Alex to safely and efficiently adjust the settings for specific skin types and a variety of conditions, such as wrinkles, redness, "age spots," or small facial veins. Since almost everyone seeking cosmetic treatment has more than one issue with their skin, the Forever Young BBL/IPL photo facial treatment allows Dr. Alex to treat all of them at once with the same tool.

What does Forever Young BBL/IPL treat?

Over time, the skin loses important nutrients that maintain its elasticity, leading to wrinkles, sagging and loss of volume on the face, chest, hands and legs. A Forever Young BBL/IPL treatment at your Encino med spa reverses this process by not only reducing visible brown spots, broken capillaries, and other blemishes but also encouraging the skin to produce more collagen and elastin. The result is more even-toned and rejuvenated skin without surgery and with little downtime!

How long does a Forever Young BBL/IPL photofacial treatment take?

One of the added benefits from Forever Young BBL/IPL is that it doesn't take long to achieve noticeable and accurate results. On average, it takes your Encino physician, Dr. Alex, about 15 minutes for a facial treatment. The results can last several years.

If you'd like to learn more about Forever Young BBL/IPL photofacial treatments, Dr. Alex and the staff at AE Skin in Encino, California want to hear from you! Contact us about scheduling a consultation today!

Find out how this dermal filler could smooth and even out your skin.

Are you tired of looking in the mirror and only seeing wrinkles? It’s amazing how even the smallest wrinkle can affect your appearance juvedermand your self-esteem. This is where our Encino, CA dermatologist Dr. Alex Eshaghian comes in. Find out more about Juvederm and what it can do for you.

What is Juvederm?

Juvederm belongs to the hyaluronic acid dermal filler family. When these dermal fillers are injected into the skin it can target moderate to severe wrinkles and folds in the face. It is a particularly great option for someone looking to reduce the appearance of lines around the corners of their mouth.

This smooth hyaluronic acid gel is a sugar that is already naturally occurring in the body. When injected into the skin, hyaluronic acid naturally holds water to provide added volume to the area and to smooth out the skin.

Does getting Juvederm hurt?

When people hear injections they immediately worry that it will hurt. You’ll be happy to know that besides a slight pinch when they enter the skin, these needles are very small and produce minimal discomfort. If you are still worried about the discomfort we can also apply a topical numbing cream to the area beforehand.

When will results show up and how long will results last?

You may notice some swelling right after your injections but this should go away after a day. Once swelling goes down you should notice that your skin is visibly smoother.

Juvederm results are only temporary but if you are happy with your results and want to maintain them you can get follow-up injections about every 9 months to one year. During these follow-up treatments, smaller injections will be used in order to achieve the same results.

Don’t let fine lines and wrinkles dictate your appearance. Turn to the skin care experts at AE Skin in Encino, CA to get the smooth, beautiful complexion you want.
