What is Voluma?
Voluma is our most popular dermal filler. Dermal fillers such as Voluma are used to restore volume and fill in wrinkles and folds in your skin and can be used in various places on your face and body. The active ingredient in Voluma is called hyaluronic acid. Hyaluronic acid is a sugar that’s naturally found in your skin. Hyaluronic acid works by bringing water into the area to restore volume. There are a couple of unique features about Voluma which make it so great. First, Voluma has a high level of hyaluronic acid in it. This means it brings a lot of water into the area, making it perfect for places that need structural enhancement. Second, Voluma uses a special technology called Vycross. This has to do with the chemistry of the product, but it’s a feature that allows Voluma to last longer than any other hyaluronic acid filler available in the United States. Voluma can last up to two years!
Where can Voluma be used?
Voluma can be used in many different places. Voluma was first approved in the United States to enhance the cheeks. This is a popular treatment because it addresses many concerns. First, the bony structure of your cheeks and the overlying fat move down and in over time, making you lose the youthful apple of your cheek. Placing Voluma in your cheeks can restore the apple of your cheeks. It can be used to project your cheeks outward, forward, or both. Also, volumizing this area provides support for the under-eye area. Most people notice an improvement in the dark circles under their eyes after a Voluma treatment in their cheeks. Also, Voluma will lift your lower face so you’ll see improvement in your smile lines (also called nasolabial folds). The lift will also improve your jawline definition and the appearance of jowls. Voluma can also be used in the outer cheeks in front of your ears. This will help pull your lower face back to address marionette lines, those pesky lines that go from the corners of your mouth to your jawline.
Voluma has also been approved to improve the appearance of your chin and jawline. This is perfect for you if you have a weak chin or if you feel like your lower face blends in with your neck.
